The Red Sox Should Try To Acquire Houston Street

I just finished putting together my latest article for the Bleacher Report which can be found HERE!

I had read a rather interesting article posted by ESPN's Jim Bowden regarding Five Moves to Fix the Boston Red Sox. While some of his ideas were sound and I understood where he was coming from, the idea of bringing Huston Street to Boston has interested me for months.

Back in December I had written a piece for the B/R that detailed my desire to acquire him. Then, the Sox sign Mark Melancon (mentally suspect) and Andrew Bailey (injured) to fill the role.

Bowden hits upon a couple other members of the organization that I feel should be traded, including Kevin Youkilis.

I think it is no secret that I am a huge fan of Sox prospect Will Middlebrooks; I think the kid is the future of this team. The longer he sits in triple A, the more of a waste it seems to me.

Naturally tonight Youk is hitting, having added a grand slam to the Sox offense.

However, that does actually help his trade value.  You know, in that "hey see, he's not broken, he can still hit" sort of way.

After all of that was written, I learned via Twitter that Carl Crawford is confirmed to be out for three months. Here is that Tweet.

It is no secret that this team is broken. The question is, just how long will the brass wait to address their needs?
